Most aircraft-partnership searches start from the owner side: someone already has a plane and wants to fill an empty seat in the ownership group. A "seeking" listing flips that around. Instead of waiting for exactly the right available share to appear, a pilot posts what they are after — the kind of aircraft they want to fly, their mission, their budget, and the airport they want to base out of — so owners forming a group can come to them.
Posting a seeking listing means you get found rather than constantly refreshing the search. Co-ownership groups often come together before an aircraft is even bought, and owners with an open share regularly look here for a qualified partner who fits their mission and home field. A strong listing makes that match easy: say what ratings and roughly how many hours you hold, the makes and models you are interested in, your monthly or buy-in budget, and how far you are willing to travel from home base.
The seeking side works best alongside the available partnerships — browse the open shares to see what co-ownership looks like in your area, then post your own listing so the right owner can reach you. ClubHanger is free to search and free to post, and contact happens on-platform, so you can talk to a prospective partner without handing out your personal details up front.
Pilots seeking partnerships — frequently asked questions
Quick answers for buyers and prospective co-owners.
What is a "seeking" listing on ClubHanger?+
It is a post by a pilot who is looking to join or form an aircraft co-ownership group, rather than an owner advertising an existing share. You describe the aircraft you want, your mission, your budget, and your home airport, and owners forming a partnership can reach out to you.
Who should post a seeking listing?+
Any pilot who wants to share the cost of an aircraft but does not yet have a partnership lined up — whether you are buying your first plane, stepping up to something faster, building time, or just want to fly more for less. It is also useful if you have an aircraft in mind and want partners before you buy.
What should I include to attract a good partnership?+
The listings that get the best responses are specific: the makes or models you would consider, your ratings and roughly how many hours you hold, your monthly or buy-in budget, your home or preferred base airport, and how far you are willing to travel. A short note on how you intend to use the aircraft helps owners judge whether you fit their group.
How is this different from browsing available partnerships?+
Available partnerships are open shares posted by owners who already have an aircraft. A seeking listing is the reverse — it advertises you to those owners. Many pilots do both: browse the available shares for a direct fit, and post a seeking listing so the right owner can find them when a new share opens up.
Is it free to post a seeking listing?+
Yes. ClubHanger is free to search and free to post. Contact between pilots happens on-platform, so you can start a conversation with a prospective partner without publishing your personal contact details.

IFR pilot (KHWD, KOAK, KCCR) seeking a Cirrus partnership — or partners to form one
Hi — I'm a current, active pilot based at Hayward (KHWD), just finishing up my instrument rating. I'm looking to get into a partnership as my first step toward aircraft ownership: I'd rather learn the ropes of co-ownership — sharing a plane, keeping it well-maintained, and being a genuinely good partner — before going it alone.
I'm leaning toward a Cirrus (SR20/SR22), but I'm genuinely open to other capable, well-kept singles if the group and the airplane are the right fit. I'd fly mostly for proficiency, weekend trips, and the occasional week vacation, roughly 8 hours a month, and I'm committed to staying IFR-current and proficient.
Ideally I'd join an existing partnership with an open share around Hayward (KHWD), Oakland (KOAK), or Concord (KCCR) — but I'm just as happy to team up with one, two, or three like-minded pilots to form a new group and buy an aircraft together.
What you can expect from me as a partner: I'm reliable, communicate well, treat scheduling and shared costs fairly, and take care of the airplane like it's my own. I'm in this for the long haul and want a well-run, low-drama partnership.
If you've got an open share — or you're a pilot who'd want to form a group — I'd love to talk.

IFR pilot seeking 1/4 or 1/3 share near San Jose, CA
I got my private pilot certificate in 2001, took a break for a while, and got back into flying in 2025. I got my IFR rating, tailwheel & high-performance endorsements, and have been renting a variety of aircraft (C172, C182, Citabria, Maule M7, Cirrus SR22, etc). After this exploration, I now have a clear mission - focusing on Angel Flights and Search & Rescue support for the Coast Guard Auxiliary, with an occasional family trip.
I have 250 hours, looking for a 1/4 or 1/3 share in a single-engine IFR airplane for multi-hour flights with 3-4 people.
Working toward my commercial — 242 hours and counting. Looking for an inexpensive, available Cessna 152 I can fly often out of Augusta (KAUG) without breaking the bank. Cosmetics don't matter; dispatch reliability and a fair hourly do.
