2024 FLIGHT DESIGN F2 100 HRS
2024 Experimental
About this aircraft
$200,000 · DISTRESS SALE · Better than new…because my airplane came with a very problematic electrical system from factory. My expert found many defective original wiring connections. Much has been replaced. Flight Design has been unable to fix remaining defects and I don’t want any additional inflight shutdowns mere hours after their botched warranty repair. They issued worldwide service bulletin because my factory defects. I no longer want anything to do with Flight Design. Anyone good at wiring you could gain 30k sweat equity for cost of wires/crimps. Dual Garmin G3x Parachute, Brs. 175 nav, new batt, reg

2/5 key specs
Key information is missing — ask the seller about hours, engine time, and registration
This summary draws on signals shown in detail below — price comps, listing age, maintenance and engine status, and key specs. Read each section for full context. Not an appraisal.
Airframe time
Average over the aircraft's life — 100 hrs total time across ~2 years. A rule of thumb, not a guarantee.
Typical utilization
This airframe has averaged about 50 hrs/year over ~2 years — in the normal range for a personal aircraft: regularly exercised without being worked hard.
Damage history
Reported in the listing — confirm against the airframe and engine logbooks.
This listing reports prior damage. Properly repaired damage does not automatically disqualify an aircraft, but it can affect value, insurability, and resale. Ask the seller for the repair records (and any FAA Form 337s / STCs), and have a pre-buy inspection focus on the repaired area and the surrounding structure.
Pre-purchase inspection guideCost to own
Rule-of-thumb estimates — insurance ≈ 1% of price, hangar $7,500/yr, annual inspection $2,500/yr, fuel + oil at your selected hrs/yr. Your actual costs will vary.
As a sole owner
≈ $240 per flight hour at 100 hrs/yr — flying fewer hours raises this (fixed costs spread over fewer hours)
$200,000 to buy (the asking price)
At 100 hrs/yr, renting at $150/hr would be $9,000 cheaper annually — fly more to see ownership savings.
| Ownership | Buy-in | Monthly | Annual |
|---|---|---|---|
| Full ownership (sole) | $200,000 | $2,000/mo | $24,000/yr |
| 1/2 share | $100,000 | $1,500/mo | $18,000/yr |
| 1/3 share | $66,667 | $1,333/mo | $16,000/yr |
| 1/4 share | $50,000 | $1,250/mo | $15,000/yr |
Buy-in is the asking price split evenly across partners — what you'd each pay to acquire the aircraft (the real figure is negotiated). Fixed costs (insurance, hangar, inspection) split equally by number of partners; fuel/oil is per-pilot since each partner flies their own hours.
